Just up the coast from Fort-de-France, Sol y Sombra sits on a quiet stretch of the Rue Caplaous in Schœlcher. The name says it best: wide, sun-struck terraces out front, and living spaces cooled by the wraparound gallery and garden trees behind them.
Downstairs runs straight through to the saltwater pool and the planted garden. Upstairs, a staircase goes to a long wrought-iron gallery looking out toward the bay. Five bedrooms, three terraces (two of them facing the sea) and an open living room give a group of ten plenty of room to spread out without living on top of each other.
The closest beach, Anse Collat (known locally as the Lido), is an easy five-minute walk from the front door.
